Maramures, Sapanta, cimitirul, Vesel:
dell'allegrezza and abracadabra
late by Patrick Schiavone
Silingardi and Sonia with Adriana Jebeleanu
At ArtVerona, prestigious setting of contemporary international MelePere presents an exhibition related to the Festival of Philosophy, held in Modena at the same time. In collaboration with the gallery StudioVetusta and the declining theme of the festival - the community - on its actual ability and storage memory is understood that the location of the cemetery, MelePere offers a comparison of three interdisciplinary artists, Gilda Scaggs, Giulia Ferrarese and Luiza Samanda Turrini, who from time to time, through installation, video and writing, conceptual argue the fascinations of this place. The project is distinguished by the number "47", the cabal that means "dead man talking." In particular, while including the values \u200b\u200bof the fairy spell, the abracadabra which the title alludes to give a precise spatial coordinates, real geographical indications likely to indicate a remote district on the border with Hungary, Romania, Maramures, where, in the small town of Sapanta, was created in the seventies an extraordinary open-air museum "the Cimitirul Vesel": Allegro Cemetery, where in spite of the usual conventions - always active in the gloom of mourning - is celebrated the happiness and joy. To Gilda Scaglioni it comes to creating tombs, epitaphs, memorabilia signifying an event to remember with a slight smile. Pedigree of a tree indimeticati doll clothes - a sort of circuit - is the excuse to tell the languor of an absence-presence of which we have only the ghost, the capacity. L 'immanence of objects, still characterized by slow practices such as sewing, writing, composition accurate - comes to transcribe a slight feeling of childish wonder, unaware of lost happiness. The same welcome ghosts, as well as that nostalgic past with deep affection and remembrance, are collected in the literary contribution of Luiza Samanda Turrini presenting a prose novel, in which the word, like a jewel, is fine and "chased" the soliloquy in transcribing of the disappeared. In proposing his minutes cemetery merry, take part in the consideration of those occurrences which are indispensable to the preservation and memory beyond the ephemeral existence. Meanwhile, in scan is always the same and the inexorable passage of time, Julia is working Ferrarese nell'implacabile sleepy and video recording of shadows and sun, focusing on what floats or is close to rot, intent to catch - in the manner of Baudelaire and the apparent minimalism ed'oltralpe Russian cinema - a breath that really is not any human being.

THE DEAD

We will not talk to your ear.

Friday, May 8 2009 opens at the Gallery of Verona MelePere the staff Mustafa Sabbagh. Sensitive interpreter of a portrait photography that always eludes the artifices which fit with the glossy fashion styles, offers a series of works that are divided between the atmospheric basement of the gallery MelePere Verona, dating from the twelfth century. The vernacular context, impure and resigned stresses controversial suspension of perception. Photography is a reflection of his warm and calm, a clear liquid, a precious crystallization. Teen faces soaked lyricism rarely follow one another in expressions of the fascinations of the sidereal, the lens of this aesthetic side of the Alps - the Flemish and Scandinavian - that the ancient insights fifteenth-century Flemish School, takes place in today's leading-edge Tillmans, Teller and Dijsktra. In each place iconographic attribute that could endanger even the desire for a fleeting eternity aesthetics, naked flesh, the epitaliale is his ideal: the punctum creeps as a freckle, small subcutaneous vein, accident, bruises and small wounds. Scattered divine imperfections - in the manner of Caravaggio and the Pre-Raphaelites who had the ambition sacrilegious to portray something otherworldly in the shoes of impure raw reality - the poses nourish a frozen immobility of unprecedented immediacy. In some cases a dynamic appears dark and charming, filled with a spleen romanticheggiante, erotic resigned, unfinished. It agrees a kind of neoclassicism veiled expression where the vertigo of reality, the wonder dell'immondo, the perfect imperfection stand out as unique styles of portraits of an era that describes the decadent, afflicted, emaciated, underground - underground -.
Mustafa Sabbagh was born in Amman (Jordan) and studied architecture at the University of Venice. Since 2006 he teaches photography and communications at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ferrara. Trained in London as an assistant to Richard Avedon in 2007, plays an educational project of shooting at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Collaborate and publish various works in numerous publications including Arena, The Face, Vogue Italy, L'uomo Vogue, Rodeo, Gasby, Front, Kult, etc.. Since 2004 he has contributed to several publications and exhibitions (bread & butter, Berlin, 2004; Human game and Welcome to my house, Firenze, Fondazione Pitti 2006; Lee jeans book, Berlin; bepositive, edwin, forfex, Milan, White, 2009; Meat, Milan, Superstudio, 2009). In 2009 participates in like-us, art exhibitions and interdisciplinary approach that pays homage to the genius of Tina Modotti, part of the Circuito Off di Bologna Art Fair.

c / o Vetusta (Modena)

How Many Citalopram Is An Overdose?
"like a tube after a long period makes the scent of the essence that there was contained a day, so even though some items retained some vague part of the love he had so penetrated and illuminated the fantastic lover." (Gabriele D'Annunzio, The Pleasure)

The veneratio Ariostea in the moon. Elegia all romantic ' ubiquitous eternally repeated
Edited by Patrick and Francesca Silingardi Pincelli
17 January to 28 February 2009
vernissage Saturday, January 17, 2009 19:00
tells Louis Ariosto reason that the search for the lost dell'Innamorata Orlando (enclosed as distillate in an infamous vial), the knight Astolfo dell'Ippogrifo on horseback, arrived in a phantasmagoric Luna portrayed as a chaotic cesspool Shem where are collected all the things that have been lost on Earth. Sort of grand dump objects close to rejection and oblivion, the moon lends Ariostea homology with the disastrous depths where the postmodern aesthetic Stefano Pasquini is aimed to select the "raw material" that will go to the artifacts . Curious similarity to the tube described by Ariosto meets Duchamp's masterpiece 50 cc Air de Paris (12/27/1919, readymade - glass bulb, the original broken and repaired replication provided by Duchamp, 1949, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Louise and Walter Arensberg Collection), emblematic work to the understanding of the section of works which were chosen for this exhibition . The immense artistic production Stefano Pasquini, the ability to contain the uncontainable, the taste for those objects abstruse ambiguous, slightly surreal, in which condenses an excess of meaning and significance, is the excuse to tell his aesthetic temperament and marginal differs from the forward-looking research and post-punk kitsch that characterizes much of his work. In particular it is a series of assemblage catturapolvere and the limit of the sculpture, provocative accumulations of various objects, framing, graphic elements that are assigned the status of a relic, preziosimo and uniqueness. Duchamp permeated by a passion for reticence - not as understood as ambiguous silence but through silence - the selection of the work will be affected by emotional implications which preserve, emotional testimony and affection. Blank declared emblems of generation ("generation of Nothing"), not educated without reference to the avant-garde Dadaist, Surrealist, Situationist, Duchamp, and Warhol, they are objects, relics, which have benefited from time to time, the strategies recycling and use the second alternative aesthetics of refusal, an allure all dandy and proletarian, resigned and sought to proclaim a certain amount of disorder in which everything is placed on an equal footing. In particular, paradoxically nihilistic utopia in place, the noise of secular postmodern residue is sated in apparent silence, in the will and the occasion on which it is possible the implementation of the "religious" veneratio. Finally placed on the "pedestal" of the art, high rank, the objects, first unrecognized demythologizing, subjected to displacement and the distortion function, then appear as silent, no story screamed and picturesque, now prostrate with discretion and kindness to the veneration of the observer. And since they are subjected to the veneration of this statement is passionate and full consent to the fatal contingency of even the most humble subject, the diversity of his work to comply with a romantic elegy of ancient memory requested the disclosure of any kind of emotional content always sottogiacente unclean physical presence and immanence of things. At the highest point of his universe is the opposite of beauty and goodness commonly accepted, because the company captures the fascination with horror at the same time and inextricably trivial and serious, admittedly superficial but deep, deceptive and imaginary effective because vacuous, because indeterminate powerful, truthful ambiguous because the limits of reason.
